Forever Evil: Rogues Rebellion

Rogues Rebellion, the graphic novel I read was amazing. It’s a DC comic. It is about a group of criminals called the Rogues: Captain Cold, Heatwave, Mirror Master, Golden Glider, Weather Wizard, and Trickster. They’re trying to save their city from the “Crime Syndicate” (the evil earth-tree counterpart of the Justice League) but also trying not to get found.

America’s Militias: Patriots or Terrorists?

In America, today fear, anger, and gun culture have mixed into a dangerous combination. This has led to the rise of more militia groups in the U.S who claim they want to “defend the homeland” from terrorists. These militias are mainly made up of former veterans from both Vietnam and Afghanistan, as well as civilian recruits who feel betrayed by the government. Recruits cite issues like the Flint Water Crisis as a reason that they feel the government doesn’t work.

Why Are HBCUs Important?

I utterly love HBCUs and what they stand for: the unity of black people. They show that young black scholars from different backgrounds can succeed and break stereotypes. They also provide a space for black people to fight for civil rights, equality, and black liberation.

Chance the Rapper Donates Millions to Chicago Schools

A lot of people don’t like rap music. Why? Some people feel that the lyrics are gritty, not positive, about violence, living in the projects, and use profanity. There is also the rough beat that can be too much for a lot of people's ears. Nevertheless, some rappers are making a name for themselves.

The Life Of A College Football Recruit

The life of a college football recruit can be fun and also very stressful at times. The recruiting process can be overwhelming because student athletes start getting offers early depending on how good they are. This constant harassment by college coaches telling you the same thing every other coach is telling you makes it hard to choose the right school.

Taming the Mane

Hair is lovely. It can be big, bushy, coily, colored, curly, kinky, locked, long, matted, nappy, small, straight, tall, wavy and, how could I forget, hard to manage. Hair at its natural state with no perms and no heat takes a lot of tender love and care in order to stay healthy. There is a lot of washing, oiling, moisturizing, and styling involved. Despite all the stress it takes to manage your natural hair it can all be worth it when you see it grow and how well your curl pattern has developed.

That’s Your BFF, But Don’t Share Make-Up

Sharing, especially sharing makeup with other people, can be harmful.  You should never share lip gloss because it spreads germs, infections and can make you sick.  If you share makeup supplies, throw them in the trash. If you do share make-up and still want to use it, be sure to clean and soak your makeup brushes in mild cleanser, alcohol and hot water just to kill the germs and bacteria.  If your friend doesn’t have the proper cleaning materials then, buy it for her as a gift.
