A Visit to the Embassy of Haiti
On Thursday, March 2, 2017, the 4th grade classes took a long awaited trip to visit the Embassy of Haiti along with our IB Coordinator, Dr. Shipp. This trip was a part of an international perspectives and cross-cultural unit the 4th grade classes were covering. Speakers discussed the history, customs and rich culture.
First Time Debaters Take 2nd and 3rd Place
On Saturday, March 5, 2017, Woodridge hosted the DC Urban Debate League Tournament. The event brought over 250 students from around the city to Woodridge. All of the classrooms were filled with a diverse group of middle to high school students debating over relevant issues and legislation.
Reading Across America Day at Woodridge
On Friday, March 3, 2017, Woodridge celebrated Read Across America Day. The day was filled with so many activities in classrooms throughout the school. Staff members from the Community Office came out to read some of their favorite Dr. Seuss books. Ms. Patricia Brantley, Friendship CEO, and Mr. Donald Hense, Friendship Chairman, brought laughter and excitement to the 1st and 3rd grade classrooms.

On January 31, 2017, Preschool - 2nd grade went to a skating rink named Temple Hills Skate Palace. All kids that had 150 DOJO points could go. DOJO points have to be earned by following directions.
Chamberlain Volleyball Team To The Playoffs!

Pre-K Valentine’s Day Celebration: “Love to Dance”
On Tuesday, February 14th, 2017, in honor of Valentine’s Day, the Pre-K Team put on a spectacular Valentine’s Dance entitled “Love to Dance.” The dance was held in the gym for elementary students in grades kindergarten thru 4th grades. Everyone was asked to wear some form of red, pink, purple or white.
