Going into spring, we said goodbye to old trends, Barack Obama, different styles and old dances. This generation is creating a new and hopefully better tomorrow for the generations to come. If everyone has a positive attitude towards life in general, we can mold this world into a better place.
#Spell Like A Girl Featuring Aniyah Thomas and Kylie Hedgemon
Friendship Public Charter School Chamberlain campus held two Spelling Bees this winter. One was for grades 4-8 and one was for grades 1-3. This was the first time that two spelling bees were held. The second contest was for the younger students. Aniyah Thomas, a sixth grader, competed against over forty students in order to win the title of Chamberlain Spelling Bee Champion.
Chamberlain Black History Performance
Friendship Chamberlain Academy honored Black History Month with an epic performance on Wednesday, February 15, 2017, at 6:00 pm. The performance was entertaining. There were a Chamberlain Dance Team, talented singers, and two lively announcers.

The Hour of Code took place at Friendship Collegiate Academy on December 04, 2016. Hour of code is a global movement as part of Computer Science Education Week that reached out to millions of students in over 180 countries.

Sharing, especially sharing makeup with other people, can be harmful. You should never share lip gloss because it spreads germs, infections and can make you sick. If you share makeup supplies, throw them in the trash. If you do share make-up and still want to use it, be sure to clean and soak your makeup brushes in mild cleanser, alcohol and hot water just to kill the germs and bacteria. On December 8th, 2016, the fifth grade class at Friendship Blow Pierce went on a camping trip to Alice Ferguson Foundation Hard Bargain Farm Environmental Center. While going there I was excited, but once we arrived, I immediately fell in love with the scenery of the camping grounds. The most adventurous parts of this camping experience was every thing that allowed me to interact with nature.
A Visit to the Embassy of Haiti
On Thursday, March 2, 2017, the 4th grade classes took a long awaited trip to visit the Embassy of Haiti along with our IB Coordinator, Dr. Shipp. This trip was a part of an international perspectives and cross-cultural unit the 4th grade classes were covering. Speakers discussed the history, customs and rich culture.
First Time Debaters Take 2nd and 3rd Place
On Saturday, March 5, 2017, Woodridge hosted the DC Urban Debate League Tournament. The event brought over 250 students from around the city to Woodridge. All of the classrooms were filled with a diverse group of middle to high school students debating over relevant issues and legislation.

On Friday, March 3, 2017, Woodridge celebrated Read Across America Day. The day was filled with so many activities in classrooms throughout the school. Staff members from the Community Office came out to read some of their favorite Dr. Seuss books.
