Grading Trump: The President’s First 100 Days

Since President Donald Trump took office for a second term on January 18, 2025, he’s made many bold moves through executive orders. Some of these actions continue his old policies, while others are a bit surprising. It’s clear that Trump’s second term has been full of ups and downs, making it a good time to reflect on what he’s done so far, with his first 100 days.
Trump signed executive orders to roll back laws that protect the environment, like rules that limit pollution from factories and cars. Trump's orders sought to weaken or repeal federal standards for vehicle fuel efficiency. Some people think these moves will help businesses and create jobs, but others are worried about the long-term effects on the planet.
President Trump has also focused on stronger border security, including building more of the border wall along the US-Mexico border. Trump has proposed and enacted new tariffs on imports, including a minimum 10 percent tariff on all U.S. imports and higher tariffs on goods from 57 specific countries. Many of his supporters believe this is necessary to keep the country safe. However, some critics argue that these actions are harsh and don't reflect the country’s values of fairness and kindness.
I would rate President Trump’s first 100 days in office a 6/10. He’s made some strong moves that fit his ideology, but many of his decisions have caused disagreements across the country. While he’s clearly trying to make things better for businesses and certain parts of the country, not everyone feels the same way. It’s still too early to know the full impact of his actions.
