An Afternoon Exploring Japan’s Rich Culture
News Brief and Photos by Levi Thomas, Logan Thomas, Aaliyah Beynum, Keyvon Beynum, and Charlie Mack.
Friendship News Network’s Global Citizens recently took a fun trip to Akeno Sushi Bar and the Tidal Basin to check out the Cherry Blossoms and Kite Festivals. During the trip, we learned more about Japanese culture by trying different foods, snacks, and experiences. Some of the Japanese snacks were definitely not our favorite, but trying sushi was one of the best parts of the day. Another highlight was putting together our kites and flying them by the water while enjoying the beautiful scenery.
Fun fact: Japan is home to the world’s fastest MagLev train, which can travel up to 375 miles per hour! Overall, it was a really fun trip and a great way to learn outside of the classroom.
