On November 26, 2019, Mrs. Zulu’s, Ms. White’s, Ms. Weaver’s, and Mr. Lucience’s advisories went on a community service trip to Kingsman Island where they cleaned up trash, disposed of loose wooden boards, and then proceeded to fish in Kingsman Lake for Community Service Day.

On October 18, 2019, our FNN team visited The Mexican Institute of Washington and Pica Tacos Restaurant for Indigenous People's Day.

Cierra Lynn is a single mother and artist who lives in Washington, DC. Cierra prides herself on uplifting students with positive messages. She wants scholars in school to feel good. I firmly believe that the artist does not wish for kids to be bullied or feel bad about themselves.

Do the people at your middle school get iPads and computers? Well here at Woodridge International, students are soaring high with their tech! Now at Woodridge 6-8th graders get iPads and 5th grades gets computers.

Walmart, a store that sells guns is beginning to forbid legal gun carriers from entering their stores with guns. Why? Because On August 3rd, 2019, a man walked into a Walmart in El Paso, Texas and began shooting. Twenty-two people were killed during this shooting.

At Friendship Technology Preparatory Academy we are getting ready for the big day when students take the SAT. In order for the students in grades 10 through 12 to be on the verge of acing this test, they need to practice every week.

On Friday, November 3 and Saturday, November 4, 2019, members of Future Business Leaders of America from all across the country met at the Washington Hilton for the 1st National Fall Leadership Conference. There are three cities where members could choose to attend: Washington, DC, Birmingham, Alabama, and Denver, Colorado. So of course, we chose our hometown, Washington, DC.

Megan Pete, better known as Megan Thee Stallion, is an American 24-year-old rapper, songwriter, singer, and actress. She premiered in a series called “Hottieween”. She has albums such as Tina Snow, and Fever. She is working on a degree in Health Administration as a third year college student.  

Have you ever wondered what happened to the descendants of Harriet Tubman? Well, look no further - two of Harriet Tubman’s descendants are here at Friendship Woodridge! One of her great-nieces is Maddison Lewis, she is in the seventh grade and the other great-niece is Mackenzie Lewis, who is in the fourth grade.

Wanting to go to college and having the finances is one of the biggest worries for high school seniors. A lot of the time students aren't allowed to enroll in the colleges of their choice because they didn't receive any scholarship money or maybe didn’t have enough to attend.

Can you believe a four-year-old wrote a book? Yes, this is true! You might have heard of this on social media or even the news. A four-year-old girl, Parker Curry, who lives in Washington, DC, did not know her face would be seen around the world on a visit with her mom to the National Portrait Museum.
