As we ended Quarter Two, we celebrated our homecoming and spirit week, a homecoming basketball game as well as the dance.

Harris Teeter is a grocery store across the street from our school. There are a lot of different sections that people can shop in at Harris Teeter, which is a good thing because people shop there for different reasons. One person might go for food but another person might go for flowers. Harris Teeter is like a grocery store and more!

On December 20, 2018, Friendship Technology Preparatory Academy had its third Annual Alumni Day when alumni from Tech Prep who may have graduated or still be in college came back to Tech Prep to speak on their college experiences.

On November 2, 2018 our FNN team went to the Japan Information and Culture Center, Embassy of Japan (JICC) in Washington, DC. It was fun to learn new things about the Japanese culture. We learned that Japan is far away from Washington D.C. and that their culture is very different.

This week, Woodridge’s very own Ms. Sarah Frayer, 2nd grade teacher, has been named the D.C. Finalist for the Sanford Teacher Award! This is certainly a monumental achievement for Ms. Frayer, our entire school, as well as the Friendship community. Ms. Frayer’s achievement is just one of the many examples of the excellence in teaching that resides within our school.

Monday, November 26th, 2018 was a day where we lost another phenomenal cartoonist. Stephen Hillenburg, the creator of “Spongebob Squarepants”, sadly passed at the age of 57. Hillenburg held many titles throughout his lifetime, including a marine biologist, teacher, writer, producer, director, and animator.
