Light and sound bother you to the point where you have to sit in the dark and turn off the TV or your phone. Your first thought would be “I’m having a headache,” but this is something more than an average headache. This is a migraine.

The PARCC is a very serious state test. PARCC is a type of test to see whether or not you go to the next grade. In addition when you finish PARCC there are certain scores that you will get. The types of scores you would get are a 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5.
A Wonderful Trip to New Haven, CT
From April 17 - April 19, 2017, three reporters from Tech Prep and two reporters from Collegiate had the chance to take a trip to New Haven, CT over spring break. We were able to tour Yale University’s famous Beinecke Library to view the Harlem Renaissance exhibit. We toured the entire Yale campus along with the engineering school. We stayed at the Friendship News Network director Ms. Kaufman’s house in Hamden, CT which is about 20 minutes from New Haven.

The D.C. District Wide STEM Fair was held at Dunbar High School, and two of our very own Titans, including myself, got the honor of representing Friendship Tech Prep with our innovative projects.
Student Minority Day at Microsoft
On March 10, 2017, I got picked from my school to participate in Student Minority Day at Microsoft. While I was there, Trayon White the Ward 8 Council Member gave a speech on how he grew up and became successful and then gave back to his community.

In this new age and generation, students now wear personality glasses that aren’t prescribed by doctors. You can get them from the mall stands, beauty supply stores, and even the Dollar Store. They are so cute and go with any personality. They have big glasses, round-faced glasses, square- framed glasses and even the larger size frames which all come in many colors and designs. All kids wear them.
Armstrong Theatre Club performs “We Are The Dream”
The Armstrong Theatre Club had a play based on the famous civil rights legend, Martin Luther King, Jr., in the Armstrong Auditorium. They did this not only to recognize Dr. King but also to recognize other African-American icons from our history.
Our Trip to A New Culture
How can you become friends with a person from another culture? First, we read a book about a family from Vietnam that moved to the United States. The book told us about how people reacted to somebody that was different, and how people can be misunderstood.
Should Education Be Taken Seriously
Have you ever thought, “Should education be taken seriously?” Well, you will need an education to go to college to get a degree and a scholarship. You also need an education to be able to read, spell and comprehend. Some people don’t take education seriously because they don’t really care.
Blow Slams and Rhymes Words
Here at Blow Pierce Elementary School, Ms. Morgan and Ms. Foster’s Pre-K classroom had a poetry slam. The poetry slam was a fundraiser. They sold bracelets, paintings, and food like shrimp and grits, drinks, and pastries to raise money for an end-of-year field trip. The room was decorated in a fun way.
Mother and Son All White Affair
Friendship Woodridge has been on a roll with mind blowing events. The most recent event that occurred happened on April 8th-The First Annual Mother and Son All-White Affair. The event was held to raise money so that Woodridge's Lady Eagles Dance Team could travel to a dance competition in Virginia Beach.

Jamal Adams is expected to be a first-round NFL draft pick with Leonard Fournette (Former LSU Running Back). He was born October 17, 1995, and is 21 years old. Jamal attended Hebron High School. He later attended Louisiana State University for three years and then decided to join the Nation Football League.

MATHCOUNTS at Woodridge
On Friday, March 24, 2017, eight of Woodridge’s scholars competed in The Carderock Math Contest. The Carderock is a unique educational opportunity for middle-school students with an interest in mathematics. The event consisted of a MATHCOUNTS style competition, an exciting STEM presentation, an interactive tour of Carderock's state-of-the-art facilities, an on stage countdown round, and an awards ceremony.
