The life of a college football recruit can be fun and also very stressful at times. The recruiting process can be overwhelming because student athletes start getting offers early depending on how good they are. This constant harassment by college coaches telling you the same thing every other coach is telling you makes it hard to choose the right school.

Hair is lovely. It can be big, bushy, coily, colored, curly, kinky, locked, long, matted, nappy, small, straight, tall, wavy and, how could I forget, hard to manage. Hair at its natural state with no perms and no heat takes a lot of tender love and care in order to stay healthy. There is a lot of washing, oiling, moisturizing, and styling involved. Despite all the stress it takes to manage your natural hair it can all be worth it when you see it grow and how well your curl pattern has developed.

On February 19, 2017, I took part in my last Model United Nations. Model U.N or NAIMUN (North American Invitational Model United Nations) is a student replication of the real United Nations as well as other international conferences and conventions that have taken place throughout history.

BET’s miniseries, “The New Edition Story” depicts three decades of the legendary group. This project was so authentic and raw. It told the story of the secret lives of each member: Ralph Tresvant, Bobby Brown, Ronnie DeVoe, Michael Bivins, and Ricky Bell.

Due to colonization and the removal of Native Americans from their lands by force, Native American tribes across the country have been decimated culturally and economically. Tribes have always relied on the land they hold for a slight level of economic independence....

Ever see those people whose bodies are in complete paralysis? They can’t move, speak, blink or even eat. If you’ve ever had sleep paralysis you might be able to relate. If you actually have it you probably aren’t reading this. But what if you could still communicate to those people simply by reading their thoughts?

Should transgender people have their own bathrooms? This is a question that has been debated many times. Should they be allowed in the bathroom of the gender they changed to? Or should transgenders use the bathroom that matches the gender they were born with?

This year I was honored to be selected to the First Team Allmet Defense. Allmet consists of the top players in this area from both offense and defense. Players are deemed first team, second team, or honorable mention based on their performance during the season.

Who is Todrick Hall? Todrick is an American singer, dancer, and actor. It all started on Youtube when Todrick began making Youtube videos of him and friends doing flash mobs. His flash mobs went viral! From dancing in Target to “End of Time” by Beyonce in 2011 to singing “Coca-Cola Shake” in Times Square, Todrick has made appearances in many places with his beautiful voice.

On January 21, 2017, I went to the Women’s March on Washington DC and I can truly say that women are, and always will be the future. As I caught the Green Line train from Southern Ave to L'Enfant Plaza, I found myself caught up in a flood of people. The diversity of this march is a clear example of how people from all walks of life with common goals will unite to support each other.

Black people did not turn out for Hillary in the same numbers as they did for Obama. Now many are mad that Trump won, even though they stayed home.... 

“How can a man get raped? That’s ridiculous!” This disparaging comment is the reason why we don’t really talk about men being sexually assaulted. The victims feel a sense of degradation because they were overpowered, and their manhood was taken from them. 

The Electoral College is a system that tries to make votes in different regions of the US equal (keyword is tries) in order to elect the President of the United States. The system is a very risky way to elect our president and should be abolished.

Trump has now become president and many Americans are in shock and disbelief. Several groups of people who already have limited rights are afraid of what Trump could do to America. These groups include minority races, the LGBTQ community, Muslims, and women. There is even an effort to impeach Trump before he officially takes office. This kind of extreme reaction has never been seen before—even in the 2000 election....
