We Need More Mental Health Services for Students

Students need more mental health services, because many kids and students struggle with mental health issues and experience significant stress. While at school, students face various challenges, and much of the stress often stems from problems at home and at school. Many kids find it difficult to talk to their parents, counselors, or teachers about these issues. In my opinion, it would be beneficial for students to check in on their mental health almost every day.
Additionally, during Mental Health Awareness Month, there should be increased efforts to have counselors reach out to students. I remember a situation with one of my friends who was going through a lot at home and at school. While I was at practice, she called and texted me, expressing that she was feeling suicidal due to overwhelming stress. After talking to her for 15 minutes, she decided not to go through with it.
I strongly believe that students and kids should talk to someone about their mental health. I also think that parents, teachers, and counselors should make an effort to check in on their students to ensure they are doing okay mentally. If you are struggling or know someone who is, crisis lines like the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline has online directories for finding therapists, and national organizations.
