I just watchedThe Hate U Give (THUG). It was released on September 7, 2018 and. The Hate U Give is my favorite movie because it shows how blacks are treated by cops and shows a young Black girl named Starr standing up for her friend after she witnesses her friend getting shot while unarmed by a white cop. I like that it is based on true life stories.
Starr Carter, who is played by Amandla Stenberg navigates two different worlds: she’s poor, predominantly living in a Black neighborhood and her other world encompasses the wealthy, mostly white suburban school she attends. Her life is shattered when she witnesses the fatal shooting. Something I liked about the movie is that it shows how black people get treated by cops and how a young black person stands up to police brutality and racial injustice, partially the killings of young unarmed black people.
Personally I can say that this is a great movie that shows a young black girl standing up against police brutality , racism and how we get treated. I rate the movie a 10/10. It's very inspirational and motivational. I would recommend this movie to my friends, family and peers. You can find the movie on Disney Plus , Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, Google Play, and Tubi.
