Four young ladies and Woodridge scholars have been attending book club sessions for about a month now, hosted by Librarian and Woodridge Teacher of the Year finalist, Ms. Whitfield. They’re reading Turtles All The Way Down by John Greene, and as you can see in the picture above, they are hooked. The book is a fan favorite, with a 4.6/5 overall rating amongst readers.

The internet has been around for a while, but it seems that more and more everyday it’s become a daily part of people's lives. Nowadays, it’s pretty rare to find someone not on the internet. It does almost everything.

On Friday November 5th 2021, many lost their lives while doing something deemed enjoyable. To fill you in, ten people died in a crowd surge at the Astroworld concert held that Friday in Houston, Texas. An article from CNN says that investigators are still working to determine the causes of death for these ten victims.

Starbucks is really taking this discrimination topic seriously! Next week on May 29th, Starbucks will be closing more than 8,000 company-owned stores in the United States for one afternoon to educate employees about racial bias, according to CNN.

The Woodridge Eagles Cheerleaders had another big win! Each year the Eagles win it big, again. They came in first place for the fourth year in a row. The team is coached by Ms. Beckwith and Dr. Shipp.  All of their hard work has definitely paid off.

On Wednesday, February 28, 2018, the 2nd through 4th grades took a field trip to see the play Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day at Adventure Musical Theater in Rockville, Maryland. It is a short 45-minute play about a boy who has a horrible day. His day starts out with him having gum in his hair.

Do you know what really bothers me the most? It is the guys who think that they are really cool and walk around showing off their undergarments. It isn’t cool at all, especially jeans hanging down slouchy and appearing to be young thugs. I am sick and tired of these teens just throwing away their self-respect.
