Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you are aware that Russia and Ukraine have officially gone into a war. This includes air strikes, a declaration of war on live television, and threats of WWIII brought up by Russian President Putin. These series of events have brought with them a LOT of confusion and controversy. What is really happening?

Everybody, or at least most people, know about Thanksgiving. It’s the day when English settlers and Native Americans shared their food with the settlers and both the settlers and native Americans celebrated. Or so the story goes. This is actually a bit wrong. According to britannica.com, Thanksgiving is a holiday celebrating the first “American” corn harvest.

Everyone who’s been going to school recently knows that we have to follow Covid protocols in order to actually stay in school and not get the COVID-19 virus. For instance, before schools were getting deep cleaned, we had to stay online for school.

Did you know that sharks can be afraid of you? That may seem untrue, but to your disbelief, sharks do not hurt people for the fun of it. Sharks do it because humans can look like food to them, or they are just curious about what is in their territory.

As we should all know, President Trump recently launched an airstrike that killed Iranian General Solemani. This caused a huge uproar in Iran, and many think this could be the cause and beginning of “World War III”.

Video games are thought to cause a lot of violence. This is mostly because of how violent first person shooter games are. But this is only one genre of video games.

Has anyone heard about the government shutdown? Approximately 33 days ago President Donald Trump decided to shut down the government for border security. I recently heard on the news that roughly 800,000 people have lost their jobs or have been affected by this shut down.

Many adults and children share the same types of problems but they don’t know how to solve them. I will be sharing with you some ways to help eliminate stress in two areas.

This year Woodridge Elementary has a LEGO Junior League. This afterschool club is sponsored by our 3rd grade math teacher Ms.Taylor Dow. During the program, students are taught tons of math and science concepts through real-world application. We are able to design, build, and create using LEGO’s products.
