Last week Amazon announced a new service just in time for the holidays. Many people are talking about it and don’t seem to favor the idea of an Amazon Key that would allow Amazon couriers (strangers) to enter your home.
Marching Titans Support Georgetown Football Team
On Saturday, November 18th, the Tech Prep Marching Titans Band took a trip to Georgetown University to support the Georgetown Football Team at Cooper Field. We performed in the stands throughout the game to support the football team. We also played for the halftime show on center field to provide some entertainment to all of the Hoyas fans.

FNN Takes Dallas
On a windy Thursday in Washington, DC, the FNN team from Friendship Collegiate Campus crosses the street to the Minnesota Avenue Metro Station. Everyone is bundled up in coats and toting luggage. We’re off to the JEA Journalism Conference being hosted in Dallas, Texas.
FNN Takes Dallas: Day 1
Today I flew for the first time ever from Washington, D.C. to Dallas, Texas to attend the JEA Fall Journalism Convention. I woke up at about 5:30 am to make sure I had everything packed and then got my carry on backpack together. I went to school just like I would on any other day, got my work from my teachers, and waited for everyone to arrive so I could meet the others who were going while we waited to leave.
FNN Takes Dallas: Day 2
Today started at 6 am when my alarm clock vibrated and played one my favorite songs "It's Cool" by Jhene Aiko. I got up from the bed, picked out my outfit for the day and headed to the bathroom to get dressed, take my rollers out and do the rest of my morning routine.

A knock on the door from Flo woke me up one hour after I was supposed to get up and start getting ready. I’d forgotten to reset my alarm and had only 45 minutes to get ready, make it down to the lobby and eat my breakfast.
The Gift of Giving
Google is one of my favorite companies. Why? Because the company just keeps on giving and giving and giving. Just last month, Google gave $1 million grant to The Hidden Genius Project, a non-profit organization located in Oakland, California that is working to increase the number of African American youth working in the field of technology.

FNN Hosts Blow Pierce Book Party
On Wednesday, November 15th, 2017, FNN reporters from Tech Prep and Collegiate joined pre-k-1st-grade students from Blow Pierce to celebrate the arrival of the FNN Online Book Club. Students celebrated the fun of reading with us by having what we like to call a “Book Party”. Scholars participated in fun and exciting activities that had to do with their favorite books and stories.
Woodridge Teacher Wins Vacation
At the monthly staff meeting, teachers filled the cafeteria to listen to all of the information about what was taking place at the school this month. At the end of the meeting, Ms. Owo, the school’s principal announced the nominations for the staff member of the month. Ms. Abreu was announced the winner for the IB trait, “Caring”.
NSBE Jr. Takes Over Greensboro, North Carolina!
From November 10th through November 12th, 2017, Collegiate and Tech Prep NSBE Jr. members went to the Greensboro, North Carolina convention. It was an amazing experience. We stayed at a beautiful hotel for three days with great food! Who wouldn’t be happy because of that?

Tech Prep Middle Celebrates Honor Roll Scholars
November 9, 2017, was the date of the honor roll ceremony for Tech Prep Middle. Many of our school’s scholars were celebrated. This was the first quarter ceremony. One student received Principal's, Honor Roll.
Titans On the Move: 8th Grade Showcase
On November 8, 2017, Friendship Tech Prep High School had an 8th grade showcase which is a way of showing 8th graders from different schools what Tech Prep High is all about and why they should enroll in this amazing school. Four different middle schools came including McKinley Tech, Friendship Blow-Pierce, Friendship Chamberlain, and of course Friendship Tech Prep.
Are These Scary Sea Creatures Real?
I read this book called Amos and Boris by William Steig. It was about two friends...one lived on land and one didn’t. Amos is a mouse, and Boris is the whale. Amos built a boat and went on a trip to have the adventure to see how the ocean looked. Amos fell off the boat. Then he had to stay in the water for a whole night until Boris came in the morning.
