High School Students Are Not Ready For Relationships

Since starting high school this year, I’ve encountered a lot of teen relationships, and I think relationships are overrated. When people break up I see the drama and the heartbreak that comes with dating in high school: rumors people make and backlash girls receive. I believe teens should hold off on dating because they are too young and have their whole life ahead of them. They should focus on their career instead.

Moreover, romantic relationships at a young age can lead to the risk of emotional heartbreak, because when someone isn’t emotionally ready for a relationship, they tend to lead the other person on because they either don’t know what they want, or they don’t want to be alone. Plus, when you are in a relationship, you tend to make your day revolve around your partner, so that means you stop getting good grades and focus on the wrong things.

To sum it all up , I think teens should wait till they're older to get in a relationship. If you wait til you are out of high school, you will already know what you want and you won’t waste time.
