Jovan Smith 

FCA Class of 2012                 Junior at Virginia State University Majoring in Mathematics       Minoring in Secondary Education 

MAY 4, 2015: Teaching The Path To Math: A year away from getting his degree, Jovan is thinking of giving back. As soon as he graduates, he is going to be helping shape young minds.  He has five teaching job offers and he’s only a junior at Virginia State University. Jovan also wants to help mentor young Black males. These past few months have been troubling in our community. The youth are hurting more than ever and could use all guidance they can get. If anyone could relate and change the lives of this generation, it’s Jovan.

Flonora graduate from Collegiate in 2008. Received her BA in Criminal Justice from Trinity Washington University in 2011 and her MA from Boston this past May. She is now the Webmaster for Friendship News Network and new program facilitator at Collegiate.
