The Incredibles 2 movie is about a family of superheroes that saved the world from a villain named Underminer who wanted the world under his control. Underminer had a team of bad guys like Syndrome, the Omnidroids, Mirage, Bomb Voyage, and Evelyn Deavor who tried to help him take over the world using their powers and evil creations.  

Well, are you? Ready or not, this year’s NFL season began on September 6, 2018 with a thrilling kickoff matchup between Super Bowl champs Philadelphia Eagles and the Atlanta Falcons. The Eagles won this game with a close score of 18 to 12.The season will conclude with Super Bowl LII on February 3, 2019 at the Mercedes Benz stadium in Atlanta, Georgia after a grueling seventeen weeks of action.

Ahh, wonderful springtime... birds are singing, flowers are blooming, and kids like us are preparing for the PARCC test. Schoolwide, scholars are busily preparing for the big test.

Do you like to dance? Well did you know that when you dance you’re not only having fun but also getting fit? IT’S TRUE! A popular movement activity at our school is the dance game called “Just Dance”. We use this activity to help us get our jiggles out before we start learning.

On February 28th, 2017, the 3rd graders at Friendship Chamberlain Academy dressed up as historic wax figures. Ms.Jenkin’s classroom was transformed into a wax museum. The kids made exhibits in Ms. Jenkin’s class to celebrate the lives of normal people who did great things.

his winter, Chamberlain Champions warmed up in the gym with a Jump Rope for Heart Program. The purpose of Jump Rope For Heart was to raise some money for the American Heart Association and have fun. It also raised awareness around school about the importance of being heart healthy.

Going into spring, we said goodbye to old trends, Barack Obama, different styles and old dances. This generation is creating a new and hopefully better tomorrow for the generations to come. If everyone has a positive attitude towards life in general, we can mold this world into a better place.

Friendship Public Charter School Chamberlain campus held two Spelling Bees this winter. One was for grades 4-8 and one was for grades 1-3. This was the first time that two spelling bees were held. The second contest was for the younger students.  Aniyah Thomas, a sixth grader, competed against over forty students in order to win the title of  Chamberlain Spelling Bee Champion.

Friendship Chamberlain Academy honored Black History Month with an epic performance on Wednesday, February 15, 2017, at 6:00 pm.  The performance was entertaining. There were a Chamberlain Dance Team, talented singers, and two lively announcers.

This year the Chamberlain Girls Volleyball team advanced to the playoffs. They defeated two teams in the playoffs and had a great season!

Winter is a great time of year....

The VA DC (FLL) First Lego League took place on Saturday, November 19, 2016, at Friendship Collegiate High School. This years theme was “Animal Allies”. Teams explored the relationship between people and animals. Dozens of teams from Washington DC and Virginia came out to participate in this years FLL tournament with the theme Animal Allies.... 

On September 24, 2016, The National Museum Of African American History and Culture opened. It is located at 14th Street and Constitution Avenue NW. There you will find almost 40,000 artifacts in the museum that highlight history, culture and community.

We lost a beautiful soul recently due to cancer. Gwen Ifill is an award winning journalist, television newscaster and author. Gwen passed away from Breast and Endometrial Cancer on November 14, 2016....
