Don’t Stress Because It’s Okay

Don’t Stress Because It’s Okay

A good percentage of the world is made up of teenagers. Teenagers go through puberty and may regret a lot of things they do in their teenage life. Story by Zhiyah Anderson.

OCT. 10, 2017: I always thought that people exaggerate about how being in high school is so much different from middle school and how the people you came in with won’t be the people you leave out with. I now realize that in high school you’re assigned much more work and tests every week, and they still want you to be in after-school activities and still have time to study. When I think about where I am now and how much time I have, I sometimes want to give up and I believe some of my peers agree with me. But during my first few weeks of high school and listening to students who have graduated last year I found out there are many steps you can take to survive high school and get through it successfully. Here are some of the tips that I have learned through my first weeks of high school.

Tip 1: Compromise. You need to be able to spend some time working on academics and also have some time to spend for yourself.

Tip 2: Whenever you need extra help outside of class, you can always go to tutoring or look up videos on whatever you need a better understanding of.

Tip 3: Don't be afraid to try new things. This is your first year of high school so you need to enjoy these last 4 years of being a teen.

Zhiyah Anderson is a 9th grade scholar at Friendship Tech Prep Academy.

Hair at its natural state with no perms and no heat takes a lot of tender love and care in order to stay healthy. There is a lot of washing, oiling, moisturizing, and styling involved. Despite all the stress it takes to manage your natural hair it can all be worth it when you see it grow and how well your curl pattern has developed.

That’s Your BFF, But Don’t Share Make-Up

That’s Your BFF, But Don’t Share Make-Up

Sharing, especially sharing makeup with other people, can be harmful.  You should never share lip gloss because it spreads germs, infections and can make you sick.  If you share makeup supplies, throw them in the trash. If you do share make-up and still want to use it, be sure to clean and soak your makeup brushes in mild cleanser, alcohol and hot water just to kill the germs and bacteria.  If your friend doesn’t have the proper cleaning materials then, buy it for her as a gift.
